iOS 10 will be the next major update for Apple’s mobile operating system and we expect it to land at some point in 2016. So far we know absolutely nothing about the potential iOS 10 features that could come in 2016, but that doesn’t mean we won’t tell you all about what features being rumored in the future major update.
Below, you’ll find out the latest iOS 10 rumors including the expected release date which should be made official very soon.
iOS 10 Features
There are bound to be a huge amount of new iOS 10 features released in 2016, the first of which could be some improvements to Siri. When Siri was first announced, Apple owners were excited about the prospect of having a personal AI assistant on their phone. There are still usage scenarios where Siri is useful but it feels like she’s lagging behind a little in some areas when compared to Google Now or even Microsoft’s Cortana.
As hardware in mobiles improves, we are hopefully going to be able to access more features than ever before. One area that could be interesting to see is more support for multitasking. This may not be such an easy task on an iPhone, but being able to multitask on an iPad on iOS 10 would be great. Being able to run two or maybe even more apps simultaneously could help improve productivity at home or in the office.
Multitasking would also be a great avenue to take to help improve the entertainment value of an iPad – we’d no longer need to use an iPad as the ‘second screen’ because the iPad could be the screen we watch content from and the screen we use to check additional information about the content we are watching.
iOS 10 Release Date
So when will all of the new iOS 10 features be available? The exact release date is unconfirmed at this point but it should launch alongside the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus and a new iPad in September 2016. iOS 10 upgrades for older devices should come in the following weeks.
