Although the original iPhone 5c was less than impressive with the overall sales, the huge interest with the possibility of an iPhone 6c launched this year is beginning to heat up. Rumors have been reported that the newest cheaper iPhone is likely to debut this year, and more than likely sometime during the 3rd quarter of 2015. Now we’re getting new information to suggest otherwise as it seems like the iPhone 6c launch may be delayed until Q1 of 2016.
The expectations surrounding the cheaper version of a newer iPhone is appealing to a consumer base looking for many of the top Apple mobile features without having to pay the higher price of the iPhone 6. The 6c is believed to share similar specs to last year’s model despite the idea the 6c will be launched here in a matter of months.
The iPhone 6c rumors consist of five color options as seen in the 5c including blue, green, yellow, white, and pink. It’s believed the 6c will offer more memory options which will appeal to users who depend on onboard storage. The 6c is also expected to see an upgrade in the battery, up from the 1510 mAh 5c battery to at least a 1900 mAh 6c battery.
Other possibilities that could be seen in the specs include a slightly larger 4.2” screen, A7 processor with Touch ID, dual LED flash, and Apple Pay support preinstalled. There isn’t expected to be much of a difference in the visuals between the 5c and 6c, but there will be when looking at performance. We’re hoping the outer body will see an upgrade from plastic to a metal composite.
With the expectations of seeing a cheaper iPhone, the price of the 6c is likely to be in the area of $550 USD, and those looking for a carrier contract or monthly pricing plan will be in luck. All of the top carriers will likely feature the Apple iPhone 6c launch and feature no money down monthly payment options including Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.
